On 2 April 2012, Minister Bogdan Zdrojewski selected members of the Council for Museums at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for a three year term 2012 - 2015.

We are happy to announce that year 2012, was declared, by Local Authorities in Bydgoszcz, to be year of Leon Wyczółkowski. In 2012 we are going to celebrate 160th anniversary of the birth of Wyczółkowski and 75th anniversary of bequeathing to Bydgoszcz City by Franciszka (painter’s widow), works, souvenirs and equipment from artist’s atelier. Dr Michał F. Woźniak – Director of the Leon Wyczółkowski District Museum – is  coordinator of the project.

On December 5, 2011, the solemn award presentation ceremony of Piotr Całbecki, Marshal of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship took place. These are the most important commendations highlighting important accomplishments in public activity. We have a pleasure to inform that this year, this prestigious commendation in the EU Funds category was presented to Dr. Michał F. Woźniak, the Museum Director for establishing and running the Exploseum, Maciej Kułakowski, Manager of the Department of Industrial Architecture and Dr. Michał Pszczółkowski, former employee of the Museum for the Exploseum project.
