New poster exhibition to mark the 1050th anniversary of the baptism of Poland
|Location of the exhibition: Exhibition outside the Museum|
|Exhibition opens till: 2016-08-19|
Christianisation was a long-lasting process. The symbolic date marking the inclusion of the Polish state within Christian Europe is the baptism of Mieszko on 14 April 966. This year will see the 1050th anniversary of that event, which was also related to the beginnings of the Catholic Church in Poland. To celebrate it, the District Museum has set up the poster exhibition “Christianity in Bydgoszcz”, which can be viewed on Mill Island (next to the Archaeological Collection). The exhibition is comprised of several posters which outline the history of Christianity in our city.
