The Museum of the Krajna Land invites to the exhibition “Leon Wyczółkowski 1852-1936. A Painter of the Turn of Centuries.” The opening of the exhibition will take place on December 17 at 5:00 PM in the granary on 14 Pocztowa Street.
The exhibition consists of two parts, namely the poster part, which features 18 boards showing the history of Wyczółkowski’s life and the “artistic” part, comprising 35 original artworks made by the master – oil paintings, drawings, and graphic artworks. It is a real treat for art enthusiasts, since such selection of works made by the artist, picked especially for the Nakło exhibition, has not been shown very often.
It’s worth mentioning that Leon Wyczółkowski, during a certain period of his life, maintained very close ties with our region. Living in Gościeradz, Koronowo area, he created art being inspired by the beauty of the local area, the Tuchola Forest, and the historic landmarks of Bydgoszcz and Toruń.
The artist is recognized as a leading representative of realistic painting of the Young Poland art.
The exhibition will be presented until February 23, 2014.
