Description:

The exhibition presents competition entries, showing the world’s best photographic depictions of nature. The event is organized every year - since 1965 -  by two British institutions, boasting their achievements in discovery, popularization and protection of various forms of life on Earth  -  the Natural History Museum in London and BBC Worldwide.

The competition Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013 is the biggest and most prestigious contest in the field of nature photography in the world – the works presented at the exhibition were chosen from almost 43,000 photographs (mostly digital), sent by over 4,000 photographers from 96 countries (including 68 photographers from Poland). The exhibition, through presentation of outstanding photographs, shows the splendor, dramatic effects and diversity of life on Earth, inspiring new generations to create visionary, expressive photographic interp

The exhibition shows portraits of people from polish cinematography, icons of polish culture. The artist Henryk Pietkiewicz presents the characters captured in his close-up style focused on emotions. Portraits of Roman Polanski, Andrzej Wajda,  Agnieszka Holland, Krzyszof Zanussi, Maja Komorowska, Olgierd Łukaszewicz, Jan Englert, Agata Buzek, Jerzy Stuhr, Janusz Gajos. Exhibition organised as a part of CAMERIMAGE International Film Festiwal.

About the exhibition: Leon Wyczolkowski and the Art of his Epoch commemorates an era of Polish impressionist painting personified by renown Polish artist Leon Wyczolkowski.  Though the content was created by the Wyczolkowski Museum of Poland, several original historical paintings from the collections of the Polish Mission will be unveiled for the first time to give audiences a first-hand look at a celebrated era of art in Poland.

The exhibition prepared for the Julian Rydzkowski Historical – Ethnographic Museum in Chojnice is a display of selected works made by Leon Wyczółkowski from the collection of the Bydgoszcz Museum. The exhibition features 24 paintings, drawings and graphic artworks in varied topics, from different periods of work of the artist, comprising almost all types of paintings, drawings and graphic art, with particular consideration to the motif of woods and trees, which played an important role in his creative work.

Ancient Rome” shows the history of the Roman state and its citizens, highlighting the economic functions of money, consisting in its influence on civilization progress through stimulation of production and trade. It also presents the cultural role of money, reflected by iconography and epigraphy featured on coins, serving as state propaganda, promoting, among others, the idea of imperial authority.
