Description:

The exhibition shows the genesis, history and development of Krakow nativity scenes. However, the main goal of the exhibition is to show artistic assets of Krakow nativity scenes, their fabulous architecture, refined composition, elaborately made and composed details, spectrum of colors, lights and shadows, and also a wide diversity – despite the preserved pattern, repeating in all cribs, which is the decorative façade of the place of worship.

The exhibition titled Revolutions in Printmaking. Albrecht Dürer and the German School of the 15th and 16th centuries displayed at the District Museum in Bydgoszcz constitutes the second in a cycle of presentations of European printmaking after the first one held in 2010 representing artistic achievements of Rembrandt and his followers.

In 1921, Czesław Miłosz started education in the Sigismud Augustus Gymnasium of Vilnius. After eight years of education in the middlye school, he passed his exams and was admitted to the Stefan Batory University of Vilnius, where he initially studied Polish philolog.
