Description: | District Museum Leon Wyczółkowski in Bydgoszcz invites you to the opening of thetemporary exhibition Sebastian Mikołajczak. Coins and medals. Its opening will take place on March 8 at 18.00 in the group of historic granaries at 7 Grodzka Street. The aim of the exhibition is to show the work of the outstanding artist - dr. Sebastian Mikołajczak in the field of coins and medals design, with particular attention to creative double creativeity - differences in the approach to medallion and monetary art. Visitors will be able to see the artist's achievements,his figure and techniques of designing coins and medals. Over 80 coinsand more than 70 medals will be presented in several thematic groups. The objects shown are from the author's collection of Sebastian Mikołajczak and the collections of the National Bank of Poland. |

Wacław Szpakowski is a pioneer of geometrical abstraction in art. He authored a collection of drawings “Rhythmical lines”, created between 1900-1951, partly in Bydgoszcz, where Szpakowski lived from 1931 through to 1934. Apart from drawings, photographs and sketches by Wacław Szpakowski, the exhibition will also present contemporary animations of his “Rhythmical Lines” aiming to demonstrate the complex and surprising trajectories of the lines running through his drawings, which is difficult to trace in the original pieces. The exhibition will be open from June 29, 2017 at 6.00 p.m. in the European Money Centre at Mennica 4 Street on the Mill Island. |

Seven years ago, we launched a new series of exhibitions presenting the work of the great masters of printmaking. So far, we have displayed the works of artists who were painting between the late 15th century and 1670s – Dürer and Rembrandt, as part of the exhibitions “Rembrandt and the Descendants of his Tradition” (2010) and “Revolutions in print”. Albrecht Dürer and the German School of Painting of the 15th and 16th century (2011). Currently, switching to another cultural region of Europe, we are moving on to the South, to Spain, where the art of Francisco Goya Lucientes – a court painter and printmaker – blossomed at the turn of the 18th and 19th century. |

Both graphic and painting works made by Janusz Akermann, presented at exhibitions starting from the 1980s, have been stirring up controversy and a wide variety of different opinions. “Protest and scream of the man are the main topics of the paintings". Images are brave, in terms of both titles and content”. “Akermann’s people, observed on streets, in windows, stores or bathrooms are depicted under such titles as Kissers, Prats, Commies, Polish Hags, Mugs, Masks”. “Akermann’s paintings are extremely expressive, you can’t help but not ignore them". Vernissage of the exhibition will be on January 26 2017 at. 18.00, admission free. |

Description: | The highly popular "Oldtimers – motorcycles of the 20th century" exhibition returns to Exploseum. In the temporary exhibits room this year will be custom motorcycles and small-engined motorcycles. We will once again be able to feast our eyes on these colourful and rare machines. And all this in the post-industrial setting of the former DAG Fabrik Bromberg explosives production line. The opening of the exhibition will be held on 17 December at 1.00 p.m., admission free. |
