Description:
One of the very interesting historical monuments in the exhibition " Late Medieval and Modern Bydgoszcz in the light of archaeological sources " dating from the sixteenth century is a wooden water pipe.
 
This exhibition is prepared by the Leon Wyczółkowski Regional Museum in Bydgoszcz in cooperation with the Regional Office for Protection of Historic Landmarks in Toruń, Branch in Bydgoszcz and Bydgoszcz archeologists associated in the Archeological Division of the Society of the Friends of the City of Bydgoszcz. Intensified construction activities, continued since the last decade of the 20th century, led to an increasing number of archeological studies conducted in Bydgoszcz, particularly its center. They contributed to discovery of relics of old buildings and materials used to recreate the history of Bydgoszcz, starting from its origins dating back to a fortified settlement from the Middle Ages, through development of a medieval ci

Along with Nikifor, Teofil Ociepkawas the most famous Polish artist of primitivism, a non-professional, self-trained painter, and an inspired theosophist, one of the leaders of the Occult Commune of Janów. The “Jungle” is one of the five works by this artist in the non-professional art collection of Leon Wyczółkowski District Museum in Bydgoszcz. Currently, the piece can be seen at the temporary exhibition “The Country we imagine… Exhibition of Paintings and Drawings by Teofil Ociepka” at the 125th anniversary of the artist’s birth in Spichrze at Grodzka 7-11.

Description:

Jerzy Nowosielski (1923–2011) – an easel and polychrome painter, graphic artist, stenographer, author of theoretical texts on modern painting and icons.

After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts, Nowosielski and his wife moved to Łódź, where he began to paint industrial cityscapes. He continued this theme for years, even after he returned to Kraków in 1962. He would watch trams, trains and tracks from his flat on Lubicz Street and paint them on canvas.

This type of presentation can be called a topographical view. A high horizon, depth practically limited to a single plane, schematically presented roads and succinctly painted architecture follow a map-making approach. Landscapes in this style seldom have a place for residents.

The artist uses two perspectives: the ground is seen from a bird's-eye view (hence the high horizon and aerial depiction of roads), while buildings are presented as if the viewer was stood in front of them. It c

The interwar years in Poland was the last period of absolute reign of ladies' hats. Presented exhibit can be seen at the permanent exhibition "From the Old Market Square to Freedom Square. Walk through the streets of interwar Bydgoszcz "in the barns on the Brda River Street. Grodzka 7-11. It represents, among other issued here part of the pre-war clothes, an interesting example of the prevailing trends in women's fashion.

Wagons of this type were very popular in Europe, used from the 1920s almost to this day. he wagon was found on the territory of former Zachem, so it is possible that it was used for the DAG factory in Bydgoszcz during World War II. The wagon can be seen in the Exploseum, on the ramp at the 1157 building. This is another monument of technology which the District Museum can be proud of.

Thanks to the financial support of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the Leon Wyczółkowski Regional Museum in Bydgoszcz has recently been enriched with a very rare numismatic item – a 1628 Sigismund III Vasa ducat produced in the Bydgoszcz Mint. This interesting numismatic item was gained from a private owner and constitutes a precious complement to the Bydgoszcz Museum's collection. The coin can be seen in the "Bydgoszcz Mint" exhibition.
